Interactive Experiences for Non-Game companies
Supporting non-game companies creating interactive experiences
Interactive experiences don’t have to take the form of traditional games. They can exist in many contexts, including:
- Education and learning
- Training and onboarding
- Tools and digital platforms
- Cultural or social projects
- Health and recovery contexts
I help non-game teams think through the design of these experiences by focusing on principles commonly used in game development, such as:
- Progression and motivation
- Feedback and clarity
- Choice and consequence
- Pacing and cognitive load
📝Example: You want to make a business that is more interactive so that clients can feel like they are playing a game while using it. You could be a construction company that wants to explain to their customers in a clear and precise way what the steps for building their home will be and what they need to do to support that process (e.g. start choosing the types of tiles for the bathroom or paint for the walls). Or you are an education service that you want to make sure that the students have a clear idea of what the goals are to study, so that they can feel more comfortable.
Of course, if you are a non-game company that wants feedback on your game, feel free to send me a message.
